The newest versions of Dentrix include these features:


Help Menu Reorganization (23.10)

The Help menu has been updated to provide simple, straightforward, and consistent options across all Dentrix modules. This change makes it easier to find the resources you need no matter which part of Dentrix you are working in.


Other Miscellaneous Features

Search Procedures (23.10) – In the Appointment Book you can now search for procedure codes when editing or deleting procedures.

Sample Database Improvements (23.10 and 23.11) – Continuing Care Due Dates were adjusted in the Sample Database to match more realistic time intervals (23.10).

Improved Access to the Dentrix Enhancement Request Portal (23.11)

We’ve removed the extra prompt asking for your office’s information when accessing the Dentrix Enhancement Request portal (in the Help menu of most Dentrix modules, choose Enhancement Request).

Sample Database Improvements (23.11)

Simplified access to the Sample Database. The database will now adjust all dates (appointments, transactions, continuing care) so that they appear relative to today’s date, allowing for more a more realistic training experience.

Additional Security Rights for Adjustments (23.11)

Password Administrators can now grant or deny user access to two areas dealing with adjustments:

  • “Practice Definitions – Adjustment Types” controls the user’s ability to add or edit adjustment types within Practice Definitions.
  • “Adjustment Types Assignment” controls access to edit adjustment types within the “Assign Adjustment Types as Production/Collections” area of the Practice Advisor Report and the Provider A/R Totals Report.

Additional Keyboard Shortcuts for Perio (23.12)

Press and hold the letter “I” and press “B” to apply Interproximal Bleeding to the selected tooth.
Press and hold the letter “I” and press “S” to apply Interproximal Suppuration to the selected tooth.


Bug Fixes

  • Canceling “change provider for selected procedure” in the patient chart causes null reference exception (23.10)
  • Clinical notes posting order is different when posted from Chart/ledger Txplan VS AB/Ledger post (23.10)
  • Future Due Payment Plan Update does not complete if run by one specific provider in the Task Scheduler (23.10)
  • Using PDF printer Drivers causes “Send Billing Statements to the Document Center” to lock up in the Office Manager (23.10)
  • Posting multiple procedures in the Chart sorts the procedures by category, then by click order (23.10)
  • The warning message that the office is closed does not appear when the office is closed for a holiday (23.10)
  • Dentrix Setup Wizard Workstation Setup gives an error when opening from a workstation (23.10)
  • Multiple password dialog boxes can appear when user doesn’t have rights to Clinical Notes, Modify (23.11)
  • Billing Statements Copy to Document Center is not updating Last Statement Date or Copy to Document Center (23.11)
  • Character Limit for Primary Insurance Group # Differs in Questionnaires from Family File (23.11)
  • Resolved Issues with Claim Tracking on Windows Server 2019 (23.11)
  • Using the Send to Dentrix Document Center print driver causes Send Billing Statements Report to lock up after a first attempt (23.11)
  • Patient Agreement Manager appears to allow users to edit agreements which can cause crashes. (23.11)
  • Unable to inactivate a secondary provider when that has been assigned to any patient as their Prov1 and the replacement provider also has a status of secondary provider (23.12).
  • Disabled the ability to merge families into the Family File of an archived guarantor (23.12).
  • You will now be prompted to assign continuing care information when an appointment is created for a new patient without existing continuing care assigned (23.12).
  • Letter Merge Birthday Filter was missing “Search As Date Range” (23.12)
  • The Procedure Code List was incorrectly referencing copyright information for the American Dental Association on the footer on each page (23.12)
  • Splitting a primary claim was not preserving claim attachments (23.12)
  • CAMED3 claim format was posting provider fees instead of the fees charged to the ledger (23.12)
  • When creating a new appointment, if you change the appointment date to a date prior to today you will be reminded that this date has already passed (23.12).
  • Claim status notes text was being saved multiple times, causing bloat in the database files (23.12).
  • Dentrix Smart Image reporting service was incorrectly responding to requests with incorrect customer information, causing issues with license caching (23.12).
  • Corrected sizing of the Select Offsetting Adjustments window in Edit Family Relations (23.12).
  • Within the Payment Agreement Manager, clearing the final payment agreement caused an unhandled exception error (23.12).
  • In Search Payments, the Bank/Branch filter did not work correctly (23.12).
  • In Workstation Setup, copying settings was causing customized color settings in the Ledger to revert to black and white (23.12).
  • When searching for an ERA and searching by carrier name, the search field was restarting a search after every keystroke entered, causing delays / lockups in large databases (23.12).
  • In Questionnaires, when entering new responses, some users received the error “The ID # field cannot exceed 24 characters” when the field with the problem actually accepted a different number of characters (23.12).
