What's New in Dentrix

New features to help your team be more productive and more profitable.

The September release of Dentrix Canada includes the following features:

  • Family File
  • Ledger (Limited Beta redesign)
  • Dentrix Imaging
  • Claims Manager

Family File

  • The Family File guided tour was updated.
  • The Family File window was made smaller while patient information stays visible and readable.
  • When you add a new patient, a list of possible matches now appears that you can review to avoid creating duplicate patient records.

Ledger (Limited Beta redesign)

  • The Ledger icon was added to the title bar the redesigned Ledger.
  • Tooltips were added to column names.

Dentrix Imaging

  • From the Acquisition Agent, you can now open the Acquisition Filters dialog box from which you can load an image from disk, apply acquisition filters to the image, and save the finished image to disk.
  • The message that appears when images do not show caries when Detect AI is enabled has been updated for clarity to, “No AI Findings Available.”
  • The colour of Impact/Detect AI panel no longer appears white while you wait for a response from Videa or Pearl.
  • The Pan dialog box no longer blocks the Impact/AI panel.
  • The Pearl Impact panel is now enabled and recognizes the country codes of the US and Canada. Tooth numbers for the US and Canada are also displayed appropriately.

Claims Manager

  • If you change the width of a column and then close the Claims Manager, those changes now remain in place when you reopen the Claims Manager. If you have enabled passwords, any changes persist per user. If you have not enabled passwords, any changes persist per workstation.
  • The last status note for each claim now loads after claim validation is complete.
  • A Refresh button was added to the Claims Manager toolbar.
  • You can now open the Claims Manager from the Appointment Book by clicking the Claims Manager icon in the toolbar or by clicking File, pointing to Switch To, and then clicking Claims Manager.
  • You can now open the Claim Status dialog box by double-clicking the claim status note row.

Bug Fixes

  • You could open the Claim Status window through the Claims Manager even if you did not have the “Insurance Claim, Edit” security right.
  • The new Family File displayed archived patients, whether you selected the Show archived patient checkbox or not.
  • The Office Manager sometimes stopped responding if you inactivated a provider in the Practice Resource Setup dialog box.
  • The Appointment Book did not switch to the date you selected in the More Information dialog box.
  • The Family List dialog box did not appear over Appointment Book if you opened it from the Treatment Manager by clicking File and then clicking Other Appointments.
  • An error message appeared when you tried to inactivate a new provider.
  • The Subscriber ID on the Insurance tab in Claims Manager side panel was blank.
  • Some Dentrix updates did not complete successfully.
  • In the modality view, if you reset the intraoral X-ray More Options dialog box to the default settings and then cancelled change, the previous X-ray series settings did not repopulate the fields until you navigated away from and then back to the intraoral X-ray modality.
  • If an image in a slot was flipped horizontally or vertically during acquisition with phosphor plate devices, and you rotated the image using the Rotate Clockwise or Rotate Counterclockwise buttons, the image was rotated in the opposite direction of what you selected.
  • An error message appeared when you tried to log in to 3Shape.
